I was recently interviewed at for a position at one of the banks. the interviews went well and I received a verbal offer from the MD. A few weeks went by and I heared nothing from them, I contacted the HR department and I was told that the position had been offered to someone else. I took it in good faith and didn't think much of it. I was a little peeved at the fact that the MD wasn't true to his word and out of sheer curiosity I contacted a friend of the family who looked into the issue, when he got back to me he said that all my documents had disappeared from the file, and the reason why I hadn't been offered the position was that they had no means of contacting me.
Upon further investigation it was revealed that a certain person in HR didn't like me and took it upon himself to do everything possible to stop me from getting the job (maybe he was unhappy that I would be earning more than he was). He stole my documents out of sheer jealousy.
You worked against me, but it's all love homeboy. The journey is long, I'll see you at the end of the road. You might just be working for me one day........

I think you've completely got the right attitude towards all of this. It happened, there is nothing you can do about it but that guy has got his coming and that stunt he pulled on you won't hold you back, you'll do great!

Nigeria is so messed up. As a people, we can be so vindictive. You getting paid more than he did could not possibly affect the amount that he gets paid. Its all good though. Karma always evens the score.

Wow. People can be something else. This is why I believe that the worst human trait is envy because this is what leads people to try and block or trample on another persons success in extreme cases leading people to hurt someone. Its quite scary. They will get theirs though.

Yeah what that guy did to you was wrong, but i also think you could have called the MD up personally and just let him know what happened. That you dont want the job anymore cos you really dont want to work there now but you just want him to know cos he came across like someone who would appreciate knowing his own business... trust me he will appreciate it, do something about it and also not forget. Now if he doesn't do anything about it or give you attitude (this i doubt very strongly) then it can't be a good place to work in the first place...
